Featured Property
Heartwood
Anchored by Able Medical Device's new 30,000 square foot manufacturing facility, Heartwood is our vision for a premier tech park. With space to develop at least six additional buildings, we aim to attract forward-thinking partners who push the boundaries of what is possible. Here, innovation and energy cross-pollinate against a beautiful, park-like backdrop, seamlessly connected to local bike trails and just a stone’s throw from Marquette Mountain.
Our Heritage
Land has always been part of our story.
When John Munro Longyear arrived in Marquette, Michigan, in 1873, his job description was simply "Land Looker." He quickly made his mark, going on to participate in and found some of the most influential land-use projects in the Great Lakes region. By the end of his career, he had amassed more than one million acres. Now, 153 years later, our land portfolio is more focused, but we have held onto the crown jewels of his collection—waiting for just the right moment and opportunity to put them to their highest and best use.
Looking Ahead
Whether through development, acquisition, partnership, or long-term ownership, Longyear continues to explore opportunities where land and vision can create enduring value.
Our 2025 impact study indicated that JML's economic contribution supported 742 jobs in Michigan with 617 of those jobs in the UP.
In the same study, our employment multiplier was 3.4 - meaning that 1 job at JML translates to 3.4 jobs across Michigan as the money we spend is spent and re-spent.
