The Commercial Development Manager is responsible for growing customer relationships in alignment with strategic financial objectives. Job Description

  • Manage and grow existing customer relationships:
    • Manage multiple customer projects with the ability to drive the critical path to completion

    • Identify and implement new manufacturing methods and suppliers to procure products

    • Assist in the scheduling of orders with Operations to ensure consistent translation of customer requirements

  • Strong project management experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

1.  Accounts payables

  • Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements

2. Accounts Receivable

  • Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.

3.  General

  • Balance and reconcile bank and others accounts and statements

  • Do not stand in front of banding while cutting or tensioning bands
  • Immediately dispose of loose or used banding in appropriate containers
  • Use proper personal protective equipment when banding
  • Always face the ladder or steps and exercise extreme caution when mounting or dismounting mobile equipment
  • Mobile equipment should not be driven over power cables, hose lines or pipelines unless the lines are adequately protected.
  • Employee operating mobile equipment must be seated in the operator’s seat with seat belts on while using the controls.
  • When leaving mobile equipment unattended, fully lower the forks or bucket, place control in neutral, set the brake and remove the key or connector plug. Chock wheels if the machine is parked on an incline.
  • Foot and vehicle traffic through the storage area must be kept at a constant vigil.
  • Speeding or general abuse of equipment, or damaging of structures because of failure to pay attention, will result in disciplinary action.

  • Promote a safe work environment in line with Northern Hardwoods safety programs
  • Direct re-load/warehouse staff daily, plan for workload and tasks upon your absence.
  • Manage re-load/warehouse layout and ensure inventory controls are followed, inventory accuracy is maintained, and warehouse is kept organized and cleanly.
  • Works with other sales staff to coordinate material flow from re-load/warehouse facility as well sawmill and concentration yards to customers.
  • Works with Production Supervisors, Sales Manager, and Logistics to coordinate inbound flow of material to re-load/warehouse facility.
  • Work with procurement team and logistics to coordinate backhaul opportunities when able of product to concentration yards.
  • Maintain, develop, and service current customers as assigned by the Sales Manager
  • Maintains pricing levels as communicated by Sales Manager, premium pricing is key to success.
  • Develops new markets and broadens the customer base
  • Light procurement of green and kiln dried lumber as assigned by Sales Manager
  • Collaborates with production supervisors to develop strong customer relations and satisfy customer quality and service concerns.
  • Monitors market activity and clearly communicates to Sales Manager and changing trends or updates.
